While clearing out an old house, we stumbled upon six wooden chairs that immediately caught our attention. They were clearly worn: scratched, scuffed, and showing their age. But beneath the years of use, we saw beautiful lines and timeless craftsmanship.
Instead of letting them go to waste, we decided to give them a second life.

Back to the Bare Essentials
To do the transformation right, we started from scratch. Each chair was completely dismantled. The seats were carefully removed, and all wooden components were taken apart so we could treat every piece individually.
Every element was meticulously sanded down to the raw wood, removing scratches, marks, and old varnish. Once restored to their natural beauty, the wood was refinished and re-varnished, bringing back warmth, depth, and a refined glow.
It was a labor-intensive process, but one that truly honors the original craftsmanship.

A Contemporary Twist
Structurally, the seat bases were still in good condition. However, the fabric upholstery was worn and outdated, no longer matching a modern interior.
We chose to elevate the design with a contemporary fabric and color palette. The final choice? A soft, elegant bouclé fabric that adds texture, warmth, and a subtle touch of luxury.
The contrast between the freshly restored wood and the rich bouclé upholstery gave these chairs a completely new identity: modern, stylish, and perfectly suited for today’s interiors.

The Result
Six stunning bouclé chairs; fully refreshed, reimagined, and ready for many more years of use.
